Even with just one day, you can see a lot of Copenhagen, distances are short and almost everything is within walking distance. This route starts by the water, takes in the royal highlights and ends on a high note at Tivoli. All times are approximate.

Morning by the Water

Start early at Nyhavn, before the crowds arrive, then stroll to the royal residence of Amalienborg, time it right and you'll catch the changing of the guard at 12:00. The neighbouring Marble Church is a short, free detour.

Afternoon and Evening

After a lunch break, head on to the Round Tower for a view over the old town, then along the shopping street Strøget towards the centre. Round off the day at Tivoli, which is at its most atmospheric after dark.
